Sustainable development must give equal priority
to economic, environmental and social goals in order to meet the needs
of the present generation without compromising the ability of future
generations to meet their needs.
Our sustainability strategy has evolved continuously over the years and started from the personal commitment of the Düsterberg family to care for the needs of the local population in Rheine.
Today, the sustainability concept is firmly integrated within our corporate policy, and a complete management system is in place in order to balance the different aspects of sustainable development. Our Code of Conduct encourages all our staff to take responsibility for this process.
Since 1999, we have published a sustainability report at regular intervals.
Major achievements:
- More than 20% reduction of water, gas and electricity
use
- 48% reduction of detergent use
- Waste water is cleaned at our on-site effluent treatment plant before being released to the public system
- Separate collection and recycling of waste material such as tin, paper, plastic etc.
